You know Mr. Baa. Isaiah has recently also made another close friend, Gheen, who is a very soft little green blanket, given to Isaiah at birth by our friend Liz, along with another, similar, very soft little white blanket. Gheen has been sleeping with Isaiah for several months now, and in recent weeks has been appearing more extensively outside the crib, as, for instance, something to tuck around Mr. Baa or generally drag around. The other day, we discovered Isaiah, having spilled some water on the floor, attempting to either mop up the water or to wash the floor (depending on how you look at it) with Gheen. So Gheen, first soaking and dirty and now just dirty, has been out of commission for a few days as we make our way to facing the laundry. But this left a naptime and nighttime dilemma. Who will sleep with Isaiah and Mr. Baa? Luckily, the other, similar, very soft little white blanket was locatable. It was presented to Isaiah as "Gheen's cousin. You have a cousin, right? Well, this is Gheen's cousin. He can sleep with you until Gheen gets washed, okay?" This morning we walked in to Isaiah sitting in bed, discussing the situation with himself: "Gheen wash. Gheen wash," then reaching under the covers to produce, triumphantly, "Gheen caca."
