Susan -- Grandma, Mom, Susie -- arrived on Friday and has already spent a lot of quality time (like, premium, top-shelf brand quality) with I. Her timing's good: I's increasingly interactive and attentive and he seems, amazingly -- to us, anyway -- to understand what play is. If he's well-rested, he reacts to exaggerated conversation with triangular smiles that take up half his face and seem to bubble over into the rest of his body. He also sounds less like a truck backfiring these days and he's beginning to bat recognizably baby sounds back and forth. ("Guh?" "Guh!" "Gah!" "Gah?")Wednesday, January 28, 2009
